Year 12 Society and Culture students went on an excursion to Auburn, visiting both the Gallipoli Mosque and the Islamic Sciences and Research Academy of Australia. This allowed them to review the philosophy, customs and practices of Islam, their depth study for Belief Systems. They were also able to practice cultural literacy by interacting in an informed and respectful way with people and environments outside their own social group. The students enjoyed the beautiful architecture of the mosque, the highly informative and engaging talks offered by ISRA, and particularly enjoyed the Turkish buffet lunch.
