A Culture of Connection

When families join Glenaeon, they are not simply enrolling their child in a school; they are becoming part of a vibrant, interconnected community.

The Glenaeon Parents Association (GPA) plays a central role in nurturing this sense of belonging and helping our community thrive.

All parents and carers of current students, from Preschool to Year 12 are automatically members of the GPA.

From the Chair

"The Glenaeon Parents Association is at the heart of our school’s sense of belonging.

It’s where families can connect and come together.

Not only to support school events or fundraising, but to build deep relationships, share skills, and create a culture of care around our children. When parents show up for each other and for the school, the whole Glenaeon community grows stronger."

Huw Morris

Chair of the GPA & Glenaeon Parent

The GPA is an Incorporated Association that exists to support the School so that the needs of the children are met and the whole community is nourished.

In essence, the GPA provides opportunities for parents to step forward to support the school, our teachers, and each other, for the benefit of the children and the school community.

What does the GPA do?

The GPA focuses on four key areas:

  1. Community
The GPA helps build a culture of connection, generosity and care across the school. From social events to whole-school celebrations like the Glenaeon Family Fair, the GPA creates opportunities for families to meet, contribute and feel a sense of belonging.
  2. Communication
The GPA supports open, respectful communication within the parent community and between parents and the School. It acts as a sounding board when the School or School Board seeks parent perspectives and helps share useful information across the community.
  3. Support for Parents
The GPA helps parents feel connected and informed via:
    Community events
    Parent craft and workshop opportunities
    Parent library services
Support and guidance for Class Parents
It’s a place where parents can ask questions, share skills and support one another.
  4. Fundraising
The GPA provides logistical and financial support for fundraising initiatives that enhance school life and provide resources that might not otherwise be possible.

GPA Steering Committee Meetings

The GPA Steering Committee meets regularly throughout the school year. All meeting dates and community events are listed in the Glenaeon Calendar.
