Welcome to Term 3

As we step into Term 3, there is a wonderful sense of energy across the School. The sunny winter weather has provided the perfect backdrop for students returning refreshed and ready for a term of learning, creativity, and connection. It has been a pleasure to see classrooms and playgrounds once again filled with enthusiasm, curiosity and purpose.

We are also delighted to welcome new students and their families to the Glenaeon community this term. Joining a new school is an important milestone, and we hope each family quickly feels the warmth, support and sense of belonging that make our community so special. We look forward to getting to know them and sharing in their journey with us.

This evening, I am looking forward to welcoming families to our annual HSC Visual Arts & Design and Technology showcase . The showcase is always a highlight of the year, providing an opportunity to celebrate the creativity, skill, dedication and individuality of our senior students. Their work reflects not only technical accomplishment, but also the imagination, perseverance and depth of thinking that we seek to cultivate through a Steiner education.

A key focus this term continues to be our work in strengthening student culture across the School. Creating a thriving culture where every child feels a strong sense of belonging, responsibility and connection is at the heart of all we do. This work is ongoing and deeply important as we seek to nurture not only academic growth, but also the social, emotional and moral development of each young person in our care. Partnership with parents remains an essential part of this journey, and we look forward to several upcoming Parent Information and Education opportunities. We warmly invite all parents to attend Creating a Thriving Culture at Glenaeon on Wednesday 5 August at 6.30pm in the Senior Library. Families involved have already received invitations to our Class 1-8 Parent Education meetings, which will include sessions with Melanie Deefholts:

Another highlight on the horizon in Week 5 (Friday 21 August) is our much-anticipated Glenaeon School Concert at The Concourse, Chatswood featuring students from Classes 5, 6 and Years 7-11. This concert is always a memorable celebration of student commitment, artistry and growth, and an opportunity for our community to experience the outstanding Music program that is such an important part of the broader arts curriculum at Glenaeon. It’s a must to attend for parents and highly recommended for grandparents and other special friends!
