Elicia Ferguson (Year 10) was a finalist in the Joy Ewart Scholarship, which is open to Year 10 students taking Visual Arts for their Higher School Certificate, and her work is currently part of the exhibition which runs until Saturday at the Workshop Arts Centre, 33 Laurel Street, Willoughby.  Competition was high and Elicia was shortlisted from over 30 entrants. Her body of work was varied, demonstrating strength and skill across a number of forms - sculpture, painting and an artist book. Much of the work was done at home, suggesting commitment and passion for her artist expression and art-making practice. This is the second time her work has been shortlisted for prizes, last year being the Mosman Junior Art Prize.
Elicia also skates with the Southern Sky Synchronized club, and they are having their 2018 showcase and fundraising evening on Sunday at Penrith Ice Palace, 7-10 Pattys Pl, Jamisontown.  Elicia will also be competing in three synchronised skating events at the Australian Figure Skating Championships on 1 and 2 December.
