Our EcoCouncil has been working hard to address various issues around the school.

You might remember Ian Smale from Pangolin Associates speaking to us about our school carbon and energy use in the hall, as part of our school’s goal to becoming Carbon Neutral! Following on from his presentation, the EcoCouncil met this term to discuss what actions we can put in place. This is what’s in the pipeline:

Installing energy efficient lighting as old lights need replacing, 
Setting our air conditioners to consistent cooling temperatures as the warmer months approach
Introducing a compost bucket in our staff kitchen for the garden. 
There are also whispers of something solar potentially occurring at Castlecrag, thanks in part to a detailed energy audit conducted by one of our dads, Andrew Rogers.
