Year 9 Shoalhaven and Bundanon experience
Year 9 spent the last couple of weeks (in two groups) canoeing down the Shoalhaven River.
Year 9 spent the last couple of weeks (in two groups) canoeing down the Shoalhaven River. After three nights under tarps they arrived at Arthur Boyd's Homestead at Bundanon. There they toured his house and studio, appreciating many works by Boyd and his family, as well as other well known Australian artists like John Percival and Sydney Nolan. After morning tea, they climbed back into their canoes and journeyed further down the river to Riversdale and Glen Murcutt’s amazing centre for further art-making.
The experience and work they produced on the program will form an exhibition to be held at Marion Mahony Hall at Castlecrag on the Wednesday 15th November. The exhibition is curated by the Year 9 Art class and together with the rest of the year, they are trying to raise money for less advantaged students to have a Bundanon Experience like they were fortunate to participate in.
