Wednesday morning began at Castlecrag, as always, with the children of Kindy 2017 starting in their Kindy classrooms with Catherine and Sarah. They were then given crepe myrtles to carry through the rainbow bridge, held so carefully by Class 2, and give to their new teacher Roger Richards, who was waiting for them outside their new classroom. As they made their way in to sit at their desks for the first time, the parents were invited to the hall kitchen to share a morning tea with the Class 2 parents, whose children had welcomed their's into their new playground only moments before. The beginning of the year is a wonderful opportunity for the older children (and parents) to take care of the new ones and learn the joy of giving and caring. The anticipation of meeting the new families is such an exciting part of starting another year and we all enjoy the process of welcoming them into our community.

We also welcome our new playgroup leader on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sandra Frain, who comes with many years’ experience in the world of biodynamic gardening and Steiner early childhood education. Ebba will continue to hold the toddler group (1-2 years) on Wednesdays and Sandra will also hold a playgroup at the Preschool on Monday mornings.
