Reduse, Reuse, Recycle
Reduce, reuse, recycle is an intrinsic part of life here at Castlecrag.
Reduce, reuse, recycle is an intrinsic part of life here at Castlecrag. The Steiner practice of using good quality natural products already plays a big part in reducing our global footprint. We try to keep disposables to a minimum and it is not an uncommon sight to see the occasional plastic bag (which inevitably turns up) hanging on the line to dry in kindergarten. The staff have decided to reduce our rubbish by having our bins emptied only once a week by the Class 2 children rather that the cleaners doing it every night. This means that anything compostable has to go in our 'Aerobin' we keep in kindy for making our garden compost. Class 2 have also been shocked to see how much rubbish (including strange looking 'teapots') is clogging up the waterways when they go on their bushwalks, and they have been helping clean up their local environment by filling up a big sack every time they go. They then sort it for recycling when they get back to school.
