In this workshop, examples, ideas and techniques for writing healing (‘medicinal’) stories will be shared and the therapeutic use of metaphor explored. Susan will address challenging behaviour, and developing positive values through the medium of story.

This workshop is suitable for teachers, parents and health practitioners. 

Susan Perrow is a writer, storyteller, teacher trainer and parent educator. In 1986 she helped found the first Steiner school in Byron Bay, and has a combined 16 years of experience teaching in Steiner schools in Australia and Kenya. Susan completed her Masters Research on Storytelling in a cross-cultural situation (post-apartheid South Africa). She has worked with the Australian Government to pilot creative courses and storytelling resources for children with challenging behaviour. She travels internationally, and her two resources books, ‘Healing Stories for Challenging Behaviour’, and ‘Therapeutic Storytelling’ have been translated into several languages, including Mandarin, Korean, Croatian, Japanese and Portuguese.
