Parent Craft started at our Castlecrag campus this morning with a huge turnout of willing crafters.
Parent Craft started this morning with a huge turnout of willing crafters. The conversation is always stimulating and the level of expertise in that room extraordinary! All levels of experience welcome however and many a talented crafter has begun their career in the hall kitchen on a Wednesday morning.
MESSAGE FROM THE PARENT CRAFT COORDINATORS
Parents Craft is held every Wednesday morning, which coincides with the Kindy/Class 1 half day. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn new craft skills, connect with other parents , or simply satisfy your inner creativity and socialise while your child is at kindergarten. It's a very informal and relaxed gathering.
The items you make are sold at the Glenaeon Family Fair's popular Parents Craft Stall, and help raise funds for the school.
All parents/grandparents/guardians of the school from playgroup to Y12 are welcome, including little siblings. There are wooden toys in the room and sandy/grass outdoor area to entertain little ones. Don't worry if you cannot stay the full time or cannot come every week. Any input is greatly appreciated.
No prior experience is needed. There's a network of parents who can guide and help you.
This year's theme is items for the nature table. As a start we will make felt autumn leaves this week. See attached photo. (For the experienced crafters, you are welcome to join and chose your own project and start crafting away!)
As a side note, apart from Parents Craft stall items, there's also the Fair's Grotto (Kindy) and Prince of Pockets (Class 2) item making, for which the respective class is responsible.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesdays.
