Padma Lee came to Glenaeon last Friday to do an hour's performance of the classical Odissi dance which tells the stories and poses which reflect the gods. After that she spent time with Class 5 teaching them some of the steps for the dance in order to prepare them for the Class 5 Indian dancing performance. She arrived very early at school that morning to prepare her costume and make up which can take up to 3 hours to complete.

The Class 5 students from Kamaroi joined us for this performance and morning tea and a very competitive soccer game and mac ball game followed the performance.

She is interesting in that she is a teacher at a public school in Melbourne, went through the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School as a student, is doing the Steiner teacher training course there, and has come in to the Class 5’s at MRSS to show the dances for the Ancient India Main Lesson for a few years now.
