The Kindergarten and Classes 1 and 2 enjoyed their wonderful Harvest Festivals last Wednesday. The children were treated to wonderful violin music, played games, sang songs, and enjoyed a sumptuous feast.

The day began with Class 1 and 2 gathering in the hall, dressed in autumn colours. They were serenaded with violin music, before performing their music, songs and dances. After the performances the children enjoyed some wonderful games such as egg and spoon races, skipping, obstacle courses, balance beans, and sack racing, and then settled down for a sumptuous feast of delicious home-baked food.
The Kindergarten began their festival at 11.30am, and had a wonderful time. They had spent weeks preparing for it, making jam, lime cordial, baking harvest loaves and scones, collecting eggs from the chickens and even going apple picking in Bilpin. The children enjoyed a violin performance, performed songs, and then spent some time bobbing for apples, beading fruit and leaves into autumn hangings, and buttering bread, before enjoying their harvest treats.

The festival spirit was then passed on, as plenty of fresh produce was donated to Lane Cove Womens Refuge.
