This week's blackboard comes from the Class 2 Aesop's Fables Main Lesson, and was drawn by class teacher, Tamara Da Silva.

Class Two children begin to show an awareness of the world around them, although they still do not clearly see themselves as separate from it. These children resonate deeply with legends and fables, recognising both the everyday attributes of humans which are shown through animals, and those saintly qualities human beings can strive towards.

Aesop’s fables are imaginative renditions of human foibles and just one example of how traditional cultures provided collective groundings in emotional intelligence. Through their own internalised imagery, the growing child is prepared for the variety of human personality traits they will encounter in the future.
