Assemblies at Glenaeon always cover a diverse range of topics and this week's was no exception.
Assemblies at Glenaeon always cover a diverse range of topics and this week's was no exception. Andrew Hill announced our new Assembly leaders for 2018 - Maija Tan, Bodi Atkins, Isabella Callaghan and Richard Nicotra. We heard students from Year 11 tell us about their trip to Katherine and their time spent at MacFarlane Primary School. Ben Barker, Richard Nicotra and Chi Chi Pau spoke movingly and eloquently about the time they spent with the indigenous children, with whom they bonded closely. Ruby Vella and Bronte Hunt represented the SRC and invited students to reduce their environmental impact on the school environment, and invited students to an open meeting of the SRC on September 20 to discuss some of their ideas around this issue. They also reminded students about the Talent Quest being held on September 21st, tantalising everyone with the hint of a performer in disguise. Donna Miller introduced us to some Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver Award recipients, and Madeleine Brigg took us along as she described her exchange to Switzerland earlier this year, encouraging all students to consider an exchange in Year 10. Max Hewitt, Imogen Hill and Asha Wiltshier then arrived on stage in all their best flouro to tell us about Flouro Thursday and the cycle-a-thon (see stories above). Finally, Stuart Wright entranced us all with this ode to Spring.
