A Day in the Life...Part Two
Friday 13th - our lucky day!
The day started with a tour of Glenaeon's High School campus for parents with students in classes 4, 5 and 6.
Students from several high school classes led the tours, visiting the Design and Technology block, Art rooms, Language rooms, Geography and Maths rooms, and Main Lesson rooms.
They answered lots of questions about the transition from Class 6 to Year 7 and what they liked about the high school, before guiding the parents back to the hall for a presentation from our Middle School Coordinator, Dani Finch, our Senior School Coordinator, Manu Prasad, our Outdoor Education Coordinator, Scottie Williams, and from our Head of School, Andrew Hill.
A big thank you to all the wonderful guides for giving the parents such a wonderful introduction to our high school!
Our day continued at the Castlecrag campus, where the final day of the school photoshoot was talking place.
This campus is a very special place, not just because of the beauty of the grounds but also because the Castlecrag staff so beautifully manifest the wonder of a Steiner early childhood education in everything they do.
It was a real privilege to join them throughout the day as they painted, played, learnt rhymes and spelling, planted out a new veggie garden, experienced Japanese and German culture in their language classes, and bushwalked past some stunning Burley Griffin architecture in the local area as they wandered down to a local reserve for lunch. We even met their white rabbits!
Our photgraphers, Ken Lee and Carmen Kwong from The Authentic (http://www.theauthentic.com.au) are also parents in Class 2, and they photographed our smaller students with great care and sensitivity.
Special thanks go to all our lovely Castlecrag teachers and the gorgeous Mary, who welcomed the photographers so warmly and generously into their classrooms and onto the campus.
