Claire Brown (2012)
A hearty congratulations to Glenaeon Class of 2012 alumna, Claire Brown, on her win in the inaugural Tom Bass Sculpture Prize, Youth Category.
The Tom Bass Prize, a celebration of the human form and its influence on today's sculptors, is Australia's first prize awarded for figurative sculpture.
The prize coincides with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Australia’s pre-eminent public sculptor, Tom Bass AM (1916-2010).
Claire is the daughter of our craft teacher, Elizabeth Ellean, herself a Glenaeon alumna!
You can see Claire's sculpture, alongside all of the finalists, at an exhibition being held until 20 March 2016 at Juniper Hall, 250 Oxford St, Paddington NSW, open Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm
Good to see Claire putting all that early beeswax modelling to such wonderful use!
