We have a number of Guardian and Parent Teacher meetings happening in the next few weeks. These meetings are a great opportunity to meet your child's Guardian or Class Teacher for 2015 and learn how they will be supporting the wellbeing of the students.
Last Friday we hosted over 100 Glenaeon parents and staff at our annual Sunset Soiree! This is a very special event that welcomes the many new families joining our community and celebrates the start of the New Year.
A friendly reminder that the Sunset Soireé will be held this Friday. Please join us for canapes and drinks at the Marian Mahony Griffin Hall at Castlecrag to welcome in the new school year.
Year 7 enjoyed a final surprise this morning to end their Wish, Wonder and Surprise Main Lesson. Morning classes were held on the basketball courts instead of in the classroom, and were finished up with a delicious shared morning tea.
Each year we continue the tradition of the Shepherds Play as a community and non-denominational celebration of the Christmas festival. The play has its origins in the York cycle of Mystery plays from the Middle Ages, so we are continuing a very long tradition.
The Hall foyer was transformed today into a spectacular show of works from the Artisan program. On display were mirrors, lights, bird baths, boxes, cushions, glassworks and more.
We recently enjoyed a visit from 15 Japanese students from the Hamamatsu Nittaidai Juniour High School in Japan. The students were each buddied up with a Glenaeon student, and some wonderful friendships were formed.
The final fitness/athletics session for 2014 will be held on Tuesday 2nd December. Our PDHPE teacher Jonas Stoebe has been running these weekly students for any interested students, and they have proven to be a great success.
The long-awaited winners of the raffle have been drawn! The first prize went to a very lucky Suzanne Gorman who also picked up 10th prize!!!
On Friday 7th Nov our school received news from BOSTES ( The Board of Studies) that Thomas Sandberg’s HSC Body of Work Architypes has been Pre-selected for Artexpress 2015.
